The village of Cordes sur Ciel will delight you and merits a thorough exploration.  You should wander the winding cobbled streets, marvel at the ancient covered market and browse the shops, galleries and artisan workshops.  The vista from the top of the town is spectacular and the view of Cordes from the surrounding countryside is awe inspiring, particularly at dawn when mist often hangs in the surrounding valleys giving the impression that the ancient citadel is floating on the clouds.  The phenomenon informs the name of a village that was voted the most popular in France in 2014.
